The major stimulus to breeding is an increase in the protein level of the diet. As good quality protein is difficult to dissolve in water it is far better to supplement through an eggfood or fruit and vegetable mix. For some birds reluctant to eat anything else Fussy Feeder Essentials can be a good compromise product.  We have customers who have achieved excellent results using this product with breeding greys and cockatoos.

In order to minimise the number of products required we incorporate all the ingredients that are going to help with fertility, chick growth and chick health into our high protein supplement ProBoost SuperMax. This product is started at a low level one to three months before breeding commences and steadily increased to the maximum levels published below. Add daily to the carrier food at the maximum rate of 2.5g (1 level teaspoon) for 30 canaries, 16 budgerigars, 10 cockatiels, 2 greys/amazons, one large macaw.

ProBoost SuperMax will generally accelerate early chick growth. Be prepared to close ring )band) birds much earlier than usual. Many canary breeders using this product ring at four days instead of seven days!

Because some birds will not eat soft foods or fruits and ProBoost SuperMax is not water soluble some people prefer to use Maxima in the drinking water.

We find that increased amounts of probiotic both stimulate breeding and support healthier chick growth. Potent Brew will produce the best results. However some people prefer to use BioPlus because of its longer shelf life.
